26.1.10

Depths

Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble,
and he delivered them from their distress.
He sent out his word and healed them,
and delivered them from their destruction.

These elements of the saving Word of God are prevalent throughout the Bible. They are the souls underpinning in regards to speaking faith for certain situations. Faith is a fascinating constituent to the idea of saving components. Faith is not “blab-n-grab” or “name-n-claim.” These mis-conceptualized connotations are directly contradictory to the teachings of what faith truly is. Faith is this: simply believing in what God has spoken. That’s it. It is not conjuring up some sort of imaginative, cognitive satisfaction that would appease our lusts through our own ingenuity (James 4:3). You can ask, but you may not receive, why? You wish to consume it upon your lusts. Faith can only be believed because it is a gift from God (Romans 12:6). When God speaks something t you personally (Abraham, get thee up) then can you believe. If that promise has not been passed or spoken on to you, then believe all you want, it is a disproportioned faith, a hindrance to your faith.
Why does God take the time to even speak anything to us?
Or, as individuals?
Why does He even care to express in us?
What does He desire us to get?
What is sanctification by faith?
What is washing by the Word?

Some went down to the sea in ships,
doing business on the great waters;

The deep, oh, the deep things of God! Them who went down to the sea to do business in great waters!

They saw the deeds of the LORD,
his wondrous works in the deep.

They saw the blessing of them who have endured such seas! The formation of such men that went through to the great places in God; yet, such men were spoken to in order too traverse such waters.

For he commanded and raised the stormy wind,
which lifted up the waves of the sea.

With all, as it were, and would not be any different with these, God brought forth the riotous tempest. The waves roared and marked their position: blow by blow, bow by bow. The craftiness in the fingers of the Most High drew every crashing wave upon its definitive mark. Destruction of the only element of which they felt they had complete security, the ships quick demise becomes consumed by the frigid waters.

They mounted up to heaven; they went down to the depths;
their courage melted away in their evil plight;
they reeled and staggered like drunken men
and were at their wits’ end.

Oh, that they had known! That the business to which was to be carried out is none other than the necessary work that would relinquish their idiosyncrasies. Their reasons for docking off, their ships built from human hands are no match for the driven forces of Deity! They find out quickly that there is no safety in the deep amongst their splintering decks, that their deliberately careful decisions; their idea of destination; their own concept of reality is destitute and to no avail and the winds howl and the storms drive out all hope of survival amidst their own concepts of how to navigate.

Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble,
and he delivered them from their distress.

Their revelation is of hope, the original spoken word from the Almighty. “The salvation of the Lord remains!” Truly, as it was originally, their only hope.

He made the storm be still,
and the waves of the sea were hushed.

The very storm that was initiated by the hands of the Creator was quickly brought so that the silky glass top of the depths of what is formed could be revealed to the eyes of man.

Then they were glad that the waters were quiet,
and he brought them to their desired haven.

Then, by His means, realization of the cessation became relevant by His Manifestation they glorified Him by making relation. He brings them through to desired destination, not by their means, but by His Holy revelation.

Let them thank the LORD for his steadfast love,
for his wondrous works to the children of man!
Let them extol him in the congregation of the people,
and praise him in the assembly of the elders.
He turns rivers into a desert,
springs of water into thirsty ground,
a fruitful land into a salty waste,
because of the evil of its inhabitants.
He turns a desert into pools of water,
a parched land into springs of water.
And there he lets the hungry dwell,
and they establish a city to live in;
they sow fields and plant vineyards
and get a fruitful yield.
By his blessing they multiply greatly,
and he does not let their livestock diminish.
When they are diminished and brought low
through oppression, evil, and sorrow,
He pours contempt on princes
and makes them wander in trackless wastes;
but he raises up the needy out of affliction
and makes their families like flocks.
The upright see it and are glad,
and all wickedness shuts its mouth.

Whoever is wise, let him attend to these things;
let them consider the steadfast love of the LORD.

To whom the promise is given, let them extend their hands of faith. Let their hunger consume their passions and let them be filled to hearts content. He who trusts His ways to the Lord, then only can His thoughts be established, His steps ordered, and His purpose completed.
Many die in the unforgiving but always consuming waters of the deep formational abyss.
Whether it be to self or to God,
something must suffer at the hands of the twist.
Yet, when all else fails, and truly they come through,
let them come out more bountiful, plentiful and true.
Death of themselves and abundant gain in contentment by His love found through mercy,
Praise be to Him, the One and Holy Only!
So, sanctification by faith? Washing by the Word?
Such hearts cleansed by believing in the promise made by our Lord.
That, whoever is thirsty, let them come and drink, but remember:
when He speaks, something has got to sink.
You believe and cry aloud, “Oh God! Forgive!
I believe in the blood that washes me from my sin!
I believe in the water, the whitnesses of the earth,
let the blood and the water agree in this ball of dirt!”
And that, my friends, is sanctification by faith. Believing when He has spoken
and allowing the washing in the assurance of His grace.
